Fixings 

  • 1 lb salmon pieces (1 lb = 450 g) ("ara" or "kiriotoshi" in Japanese) (see Note) 
  • 3 Salted Salmon filets (Formula) 
  • 1 kombu (dried kelp) (Palm measured) 
  • 4 glasses water (4 mugs = 960 ml) 
  • 1 daikon radish (1 daikon = 8" or 20 cm long) 
  • 1 carrot 
  • 2 Negi/Long Green Onion (or 4 scallions/green onions) 
  • 2 potatoes (I use Yukon Gold potatoes) 
  • 4 Tbsp purpose 
  • 1 tsp salt (genuine or ocean salt; utilize half if utilizing table salt) 

Guidelines 

  1. Assemble every one of the fixings. 
  2. Convey an expansive pot of water to bubble. Cut salmon pieces into 2-3" (5-8 cm) pieces.
